Dexterity determines attack initiative, number of attacks, weapon class, armor class, "thief" abilities, and thrown weapon skill.
A) Initiative, or, order of attack The first hit in a fight goes to the character with the highest initiative. The formula for deriving the initiative is:
Note: If dexterity is greater or equal to 75, the initiative value is modified as follows:
B) Number of attacks per turn is determined by dividing the greater initiative value by the lower. The result is the number of attacks per turn that the character with the highest initiative gets.
C) Weapon Class and Armor Class Weapon class and armor class are the numbers that determine the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. Since armor and weapons do not fight by themselves upon command (in most cases), their effectiveness is based on experience and dexterity.
D) The chance of hitting the opponent is determined by the following formula:
Dexterity 75 or greater will allow a 25% extra chance to hit per point with thrown or fired weapons. Though sometimes the fight is lopsided and hit chance is a huge number, maximum Hit Chance is always 95% because there is always the possibility of something going wrong, slipping on a slug, or choking on a nose hair..
