Aide 1 is an entity who's presence is sometimes required on Gateway to Reality. Like a Paladin, he is summoned forth in times of trouble and malcontent to dish out the knuckle rappings that are sometimes necessary. Here's a bit of dialogue from Aide 1 himself--

"What's that? Who am I? What's the matter, haven't you talked to a glowing orb of pure energy before? So new here, and already asking questions. Well, I'm used to it. I'm Aide1, and it's one of my jobs to get you settled in here and to answer your questions about how things operate. The other is to whack you with a blunt instrument if you don't pay attention to the rules. I'm generally the friendly sort, so please don't hesitate to ask me questions if you're stuck about anything. "
